Daisy King
Daisy King, Sales Administration Assistant – Mediplus Ltd
My name is Daisy. My current job role is a sales administration assistant role for a medical company where they sell medical devices. With the Realise apprenticeship – I started off at Mabrouka Events.
So I started at Mabrouka Events, I think that was in February, 2019. I would say then obviously in the March, that’s when Sharon said, I think, it was another events agency she knew and they had an apprentice there. And she was like, why don’t you try doing this Realise apprenticeship.
It’s definitely given me more confidence and the key skills in event organising, and also the basics of how to run an event, as well.
Let’s see I did that for, I think, it was a total of 18 months the apprenticeship. But well, see, some of it had to be cut short because of COVID. So, yeah.
Not a lot of people traveling about because there were so many restrictions. So yeah, I had to do most of my, well some of the core rest of the course work at home. Because they had to let me off because we hadn’t had a lot of work to do.
With the new position [at the medical company], there’s two meetings in a year. It’s called a national sales meeting. So, obviously having a Realise apprenticeship, actually, has really helped me, obviously, with those two events I have to organize. Obviously booking the hotel room and stuff.
So I actually love meeting new people.
I’m not the most confident person but, honestly, with events, I just find it so fun, inspiring … motivating as well.
So obviously Realise helped me a lot with like, the base, the marketing side of it; how to promote an event; what a room hire is; what a DDR is; a 24-hour rate.
So, it’s given me a lot of confidence.
